Semi-annual to annual maintenance

Function and safety check FSC boiler

  • Leakage test of all screw connections and flanges on the steam generator and economiser
  • Cleaning the strainer in front of the boiler pump
  • Check and clean the boiler measuring line
  • Operational testing of all valves, ball valves and check valves of the boiler components
  • Functional test of the boiler safety devices
  • Visual inspection of the combustion/flame chamber if possible
  • Testing the water level control on the steam generator
  • Cleaning the boiler float
  • Checking and cleaning the water level control on the feed water vessel
  • Testing and documentation of water values
  • Feed water hardness
  • Oxygen content
  • PH value
  • conductivity
  • Function check of the dosing pump
  • Preparation of a test report


Weekly maintenance

  • At least every three days (72 hours)
  • Check the steam system for leaks, abnormal noises, odors, or other unusual occurrences.
  • Check the boiler feed water.
  • Document the water values and take countermeasures if necessary.
  • Check whether there is sufficient dosing agent and salt in the water softener.
  • Drain the steam generator regularly.
  • Mud the water level indicator


Monthly maintenance

  • Clean all dirt traps.
  • Clean the water level indicator float.
  • During operation, check the steam plume escaping from the vent line of the feedwater vessel.
  • Briefly operate all manual valves and check that they operate smoothly.
  • Clean the feed water vessel floats.
  • Check the exhaust temperature limiter.
  • Check emptying of the feed water vessel.
  • Empty the blowdown tank
  • Check the function of the pressure limiter.
  • Check the function of the steam temperature limiter.
  • Check the exhaust temperature limiter.

Steam trap testing of all common steam traps

  • Steam trap testing
  • Product description: Permanent marking of condensate drains
  • Collecting the data required for condensate drain monitoring (manufacturer, type, nominal diameter, connection type, operating data, installation location, etc.)
  • Testing with the TrapMan handheld testing device using ultrasonic emission and surface temperature


Evaluation of steam trap test report

  • Evaluation and analysis including data transfer
  • Preparation of a test report with reference to system features or installation problems.
  • Provision of replacement arrester lists and calculation of loss costs
  • Detect and record abnormalities in the steam system regarding:
  • unsuitable arresters
  • missing arresters
  • unfavorable cable routing
